Who we are
With a long and extensive background in working with adults with extensive trauma, I have first hand experience in seeing the impact of growing up in an environment that doesnt nurture emotions. Having worked across the homelessness sector, within adult mental health, substance use and domestic abuse as a support worker, service manager, domestic abuse and drug worker and group facilitator I have developed a passion for creating safe, kind, warm and nurturing spaces well people feel able to truly express themselves and be who they want to be.
No one thrives when they’re beaten down and criticised and I have seen countless times; over and over and over again how creating space, softness, support, kindness and care can be so healing and powerful. I have seen people flourish from darkness just by being able to talk and having their stories received with kindness. I have seen how effective social connection is and how when people learn to truly listen to one another, empathy grows, connections form and wellbeing grows.
I believe there is a space in our corporate world for people to get to experience the freedom this brings, too. I believe people will be happier, more productive and learn to communicate better in the workplace if they are listened to understood and given the tools to have a voice, build their confidence and make decisions with conviction. Creating an environment that harnesses these skills will create a workplace filled with empathy, understanding, collaborative working and people who can trust their own instincts, decisions, set boundaries, ask for what they need and overall make for a happier, healthier workplace.
I believe if we break down hierachies and get the intern in a room with the CEO, we can show people how to communicate effectively with one another and understand why the people we work with every single day make the decisions they do. If we can get an every level of an organisation in a room together; talking, feeling and thinking together I can promise you the outcomes at work will be astronomically greater.
However, were not stopping there. For every participant of your own organisation you put into this programme, you will pay it forward meaning a member of the community - from an underprivileged background can participate in exactly the same programme. Whilst the experiences between your employees and a community member may well be different, the outcomes, emotions and personal experiences will overlap. Whilst we run the programme for members of your organisation, we will run the exact same programme (facilitated by adults with lived experience) for a group of adults experiencing adversity such as homelessness, domestic abuse, grief or recovering from drug and alcohol use, to name but a few. Every community member will receive the top tier of support we offer and we will not discriminate between the community member and the corporate member. You will be paying into a scheme that allows those who need it the most to access invaluable support.
The programme is tried and tested and I have seen its outcomes first hand!
